Cruise Control Sites did a great job rendering a website for me! I own a small trades business and have dreaded the process of designing a website because I didn’t know where to start and didn’t know exactly what I wanted. … Communication was clear and prompt, I felt my needs were met as the customer, and the entire process was user-friendly. Having a website has already helped my business grow … I can’t recommend Cruise Control Sites enough!

The honest answer

Do I really need a monthly plan?

Compare care plans

Honest answer: it depends on what kind of site you have. A brochure site that rarely changes doesn't need a monthly fee: the first year of hosting and your domain are included in the build, and after that it's $180 a year, or included with any care plan. We warranty it for 60 days, make your updates when you send them, and charge hourly only if you need us after that.

A store is a different product. It has payment processing, third-party apps, and software that needs updating. It's a target for bad actors. And it has revenue that stops the moment checkout breaks — usually on a Saturday, in season. Somebody has to own the patching, backups, monitoring, and platform changes.

That's what the care plan is: a person who already knows your site, a defined response time, and a monthly report so you can see it's working. Not a ticket queue.

Common questions

Do I need a monthly plan?

Only if you have a store. A brochure site doesn't need one: the first year of hosting and your domain are included in the build, then it's $180 a year, or included with any care plan. We warranty it for 60 days and make your updates when you send them. A store has payments, apps, and updates that need looking after every month.

Who owns my website and accounts?

Your domain, your words and your photos are yours from day one, and a store's Shopify and payment accounts are set up in your name and paid by you. We host brochure sites and keep them running. If you ever leave, we transfer the domain and hand over your content and images.

How long does a build take?

A five-page brochure site is usually three to four weeks. An online store is closer to six to eight, depending on how quickly photos, product details, and approvals come together.

What happens if my site goes down?

We're monitoring it, so we usually know before you do, and we start work straight away. Emergencies like a site being down or checkout breaking are defined in writing and handled ahead of everything else.

How do I update the site?

Send us what to change — a new photo, new hours, a service you've added — and we make it for you. Every build includes a walkthrough at launch of how that works, and small changes are quick.

What you can count on

A person who knows your site

The same small team that built it keeps it running. No handoffs, no starting over.

Next-business-day response

Standard requests get an answer the next business day. Site-down emergencies go first.

You own your accounts

Your domain, store, and payment accounts are in your name from day one.

A monthly report you can read in two minutes

Visits, orders, and whether the site stayed online — on one page, in plain English.

Every month, in plain English. Two minutes to read.

Example of the monthly summary email: subject “Your site last month — nothing needed from you”, with 1,284 visits (up 12%), 43 orders (up 8%), and 100% of the month online. It lists the work done that month — software updates installed, backups checked 30 of 30, two content changes completed, and a clean security scan — and invites you to reply to the email if you’d like anything changed. Numbers are illustrative.
